Nanotech’s KolourOptik® security platform uses advanced nano-optics for the most sophisticated security authentication on the market – it transcends the barriers of technology currently used by holograms.


1. Stamp Nano-Holes

KolourOptik technology uses patented algorithms coupled with electron and ion beam technology to stamp hundreds of millions of extremely small holes (“nano-holes”) onto the surface of virtually any material.


2. Nano-Holes Capture and Transmit Light

The nano-holes capture light on the surface of the material and transmit it back in a unique, brilliant and crisp manner – acting as a security or authentication feature.


3. Colours Appear

The result is a beautiful iridescent shimmering effect that is holographic-like, but crisper and with more vivid colours. Images will appear as a solid Red, Green or Blue, and switch cleanly to another colour.


4. Customize Appearance

This technology can be customized to any shape or size, with details that can be viewed with the naked eye or detected via specialized equipment.

We manufacture KolourOptik images using the most advanced optical technology available. As a result, the KolourOptik features are visually unique and near impossible to replicate with other technologies.

Years of research, specialized equipment

It has taken Nanotech Security Corp’s team many years to develop the entire KolourOptik process. This process requires patented algorithms, extremely skilled personnel, multimillion-dollar equipment and class 1 clean rooms to effectively fabricate master shims.

Cannot be reverse-engineered

Once built, an origination wafer can be used to produce a subsequent master shim – suitable for high-speed, large-volume production. Because of the requirements for production and nano-scale of this technology, the shim cannot be reverse engineered.
